You need to list the exact spec of the car it came from
If its from a standard car with no mods then it might be suitable to use if it's what you would call a basic map tweak
But that said it wouldn't really be wise to use on another vehicle without checking the vehicle over because in a lot of cases cars are mapped on an individual basis and as you probably know , no two cars are really the same

Code/ serial number off the ecu
+ list all the relevant mods made to the car , so folk know roughly what type of map it has had
E,g , injector size , what turbo , exhaust , inlet , ect

Surely you need things like transponder or key chip mate.

I Am looking to sell the ecu on to someone with the same spec as me

How will they know if it's the same spec as you if you don't say what you're spec is

I'm not quite sure what your asking?? Tony has given you the basics? If you know who's buying it and your confident it will work then go for it :thumb: won't need the key or chip, so why is this guy buying it? Because it has the ecutek licence on their already? Or is it os?

When you ask what do I need to include, why don't you give us a list of what you think is needed or list what your concerns are and we can tell you yey or ney think that's probably going to be the easiest way here ;)

Sorry what i mean, basically im a vauxhall breaker when i sell my ecus i have to include the transponder and key chip or it will not work at All.

Full spec of mine was

Walbro fuel pump
Turbo back no cat 3inch exhaust
Uprated panel filter

Standard sti spec

They not like the vauxhall ecu's chap thank god!

What year is your car? And what year is the car its intended to go in to? Is yours a uk or jdm car? Same again for the other car, they won't swap over if different models, both have to be of same spec.

The mods you have listed above the other car will need to be to at least the same spec if your just planning on plugging it in and away you go so to speak, or is he planning in buying it and getting it mapped gain to his spec?

Mines a 2002 STi Uk

So would work in another sti with just plugging the ecu in?

A breaker on here told me i needed the locks, Barrel transponder

Slightly confused now

Infected by sti 15 December 2012 04:45 PM

I'm not 100% sure then chap I'm just as confused if that's what you been told as there are always ecu's on here for sale which people buy to save them purchasing a licence for their ecu and I can't say I've seen them advertised with transponders keys etc :wonder:

I think you may be best dropping Simon jgm an email if he's the one that mapped it, he would be able to tell you what car it will work on and what's what with it, i don't want to be giving you wrong information, but I'm pretty sure you don't need the transponder and key as mine has a titanium key which has no chip in it
