2001-2005 STI advice

Ok so on the lookout for a new ride and looking at anything from the bug eye to the blob and just looking for advice on the choice model to go for

Wide track 05 STi what's the deal?

Dan- 14 December 2012 06:45 PM

all very good cars, all depends on budget what model you can aim to buy,

05 widetrack differences are really DCCD, dash changes, rear arch extensions to go with the widertrack,

Had both prefer the bug, more honest in my opinion

2003 sti every day, the suretrack diff cars with non-dccd are a hoot.
Also cheap to buy now, get one while you can at a resonable price...watch this space they will start going up in value.

dipster

I've got a 2005 wide track model with Suretrac and no DCCD. Thus I've got old and new technology on mine. It's because mine is the Maltese Falcon. Worth a million in my heart.

had no idea they did a widetrack without dccd

Me neither, sounds fun. Had my 03 since new. Only issue so far has been the shocks, but BC's fixed that. Going on that the 2003 cars are sound.

Apparently all the UK widetracks had DCCD, but the Euro spec cars had it as an option.

fun because the front suretrack doesn't work unless you give it some beans. so oh I'm understeering so I must plant the throttle :-D
