Strange noise just started from back end of car
Hi guys, hope someone might have an idea what this could be, as I don't have a clue!
It started last night, when coming to a stop at a junction just before I stop there is a sort of "whooooooooooo" noise from the back of the car. Not the sound of air, and not the sound where metal is rubbing against metal, its difficult to describe. I suppose like the sound of something slowing down. Is this likely to be the Dccd? I don't think its a wheel bearing as its not constant. Any ideas would be appreciated cheers! |
I think the cold weather definately makes a difference with road noises i.e tyre noise and bearings etc.
Does with mine anyway! |
Yeah its definitely a possibility I suppose, and I'm now wondering whether it may well actually be a bearing/bearings. Its certainly coming from the back of the car.
Theres no grumbling, whining, noises though, its when coming to a slow stop that it seems to do it the most. Its never done it before, but things get older and less capable, I suppose! Thanks for the idea, could be the cause! |
Did you remember to let the wife out of the boot?
|
Haha I let her out the other day (finally!).
Just been for a spin, narrowed it down to brakes, one is locking on I think. Will get someone to look at it :) |
Sounds to me as poolio suggested
Tyre noise (wine) as its not constant It's the ply of the tyre on different surfaces due to cold |
