Super unleaded?

Hi Guys.

I pick up my 2005 WRX STI 2.0 litre (type uk) this saturday. I am so excited. As a complete newbie to these awesome cars can someone advise what petrol i should be using. Is super unleaded the minimum octane that i should use.
Thanks guys. Really excited to be part of the scooby club and would love to get to some meets soon. Already planning what I can do for big bhp gains etc, hehe :lol1:

If you want to look after the engine go with high octane fuels, V-power and tesco 99 are probably the most widely used fuels. You can get away with using standard octane fuels, especially if the car is standard but given the option high octane is worth it.

As said only use shell Vpower or Tesco99 and you wont go far wrong.

Keep away from Bp fuel,as above

Keep clear of supermarket unleaded (exception being tesco m99) and as a minimum I would suggest esso super unleaded at the very least but would recommend using shell v power or tesco's m99 from what I've been told.

Have also been advised to stay well away from bp ultimate as the scoobs don't tend to like it much :wonder:

Same here :) less than a mile from my house and over 10p a litre cheaper than v power :thumb:

Tesco re-branded it Momentum99 just to confuse you a little bit more lol.

But if you use V Power, you can get a Shell Drivers' Club card and, with double points on V Power, simply by buying just 250 litres of fuel, you get a voucher for £2.50 off.

Sometimes, even with double points, I wonder if the SDC points deal is a little 'fiscally challenged'....

I hope you enjoy your new car incidentally.

Or use tesco's and get 5p of a litre vouchers whilst collecting club card points which in turn gives you more vouchers :lol1:

I have always considered T99 to be chocolate fuel, but is it really that different from
V99?

I have used Sainsburys Super for the last 4 years since changing work locations, car seems to like it. :)

Wouldn't use that 95ron sh!te though, I got a 15p per litre off voucher from Morrisons with the shopping and that's all they had.
