URGENT!!!... SAMEDAY COURIER???

Urgent!

Can anyone recommend a RELIABLE sameday courier?

'Easy payment' - like debit or credit card over the phone will help, too.

I'm searching online in parallel, but if anyone has any sound recommendations, I'd be most grateful. :thumb:

Parcel2Go will usually offer a same day service. dl

Thanks DL; I shall take that on board for next time (if 24sevensameday fail to deliver!) lol

24sevensameday deliver the goods.... Literally.

Collected in Leic. earlier this morning... delivery in Crowther, Tyne & Wear a few hours later. :)

They have been bookmarked.

Just by off chance how much was you charged and what/how big was item and value. As if I seen this earlier I may of been able to help as I was a specialist same day high valuables courier that couldnt be done by some couriers.

joz8968 07 December 2012 04:34 PM

Not 'cheap'.

But then it was collected within 30 mins of booking and, IIRC, Crowther is about 3.5 hours away...

It was a box 16" x 16" x 1.5"

Weight <1kg

No commercial value - just a nominal £5 (goods was a 6" x 6" electroformed metal shim)

Tariff: £199+VAT.

(It was for my employer - I didn't pay lol).

Lol seems fair for emergency same day delivery, I would of said £190 so fair price.
Most of the time dosent really matter on size value of item to same day couriers as the cater for that one job mainly unless you deal with the bigger company's who will charge for miles and on top box dimensions, weight etc and before you know it, it's upto £300 so fair price.

joz8968 07 December 2012 05:04 PM

Yeah.

So much has to come out of that fee - driver's proportion of salary/commission, admin costs, 2-way fuel consumption, vehicle's wear & tear, etc etc.

As you say, you're paying for the colossal convenience of the urgent sameday delivery - so fair enough really.

Yep good business to be in tbh but getting constant same day work nowadays is hard as most send next day to save costs, most courier company's cater for this nowadays, but not very popular as they would make a fortune, but when it comes in its good as to why you get priority service.
And they should only charge from pick up point to delivery point as they have to come back anyway.but seems they have charged you £1 per mile or 50p both ways.plus admin cost and vat so about right.

Good choice, I would have recommended them as well for that (collection) area.

Currently not many national sameday courier companies, most are like 24/7 who are essentially provincial and know their area very well. Hopefully going to change that soon ;

I would have driven the parcel myself instead of paying 200 quid, but then in my car it wouldnt be much cheaper in the fuel cost alone LOL

I would have thought the main problem with same day courier / emergency is that you have to have drivers standing around or on call etc

Yep a quick call and send someone or if busy send an associate to keep potential business.

I was at work and up to my eyeballs.... Plus was on my own in the office.

Package defo had to get to the destination on the same day.

Sameday courier was only option.

I loved these type of customers, but hard to find on a daily basis, but then again only needed 2-3 jobs in a week to see a nice ish wage :D

Totally - 'tight deadline/money no object' punters FYW (for your win ;)).

Great work if you can get it. :D
