Day after so providing you don't work weekends would be Monday, sick notes cover up until and including the date it expires

Or I guess you could return to work as sooner if you feel up to it.

Put a 1 before the 8 and enjoy yourself

RobsyUK 05 December 2012 07:58 AM

I thought sick notes were valid for 7 days and therefore you would go back on the 7th...

Surely if you feel better on say the 4th you should go back ;)

Only employed scroungers get sick notes

PeteBrant 05 December 2012 09:03 AM

Be careful about going back early. Many companies will have insurance difficulties they would rather avoid if they have certified sick employees on their premises. I.e. if something happend to the whilst they are signed off sick and they are working, the insurance company which covers the employer for liabilities will not cover the employer for any claims.

Reluctantly had to have my very first sicknote in 20 years of employment a couple of weeks back.

I went back on my last day of cover (going stir crazy at home) - my work didn't seem to mind and HR made no reference to my coming back early being an issue.

Might just be them though :D

Strange first post.

You can't go back to work early if you have a sick note
If you have an injury or anything it can fall back very seriously on your employer if you have a sick note

Op

Wha sort of Subaru do you have and scoobynet requires pictures of it

It's the law :D

Why? have you seen the Op driving his subaru around when he was supposed to be on sick leave...;)

Ops - you go back on what would be the 8th, the note covers you from the start date to the end date (the last day of sickness cover)

good luck

I wouldn't worry about the 'back to work'. They just have to look at your previous good attendance/sick note - shouldn't be a bother.....

Not sure. I've been off sick before and went back early with no problems. :wonder:

Phoned the GP surgery and asked them to do a fit note to say I was ok to return to work.
