Bugeye WRX diff info..
HI,
A previous car was a 06 Forester X.. cant say how good it was, regret selling it but at the time family was growing, uncertainty with work etc etc... anyway.. I think the Forester was better in the ice/Snow we have now over here.. Would this be becouse the Forester had a LSD (Viiscous?) rear diff and the Bugeye WRX has a open diff??? or are they both LSD??? Assuming that the WRX has a open diff.. What options do I have to put in a non slipper LSD?? will the rear diff from a bugeye STI drop straight in to the rear axle?? what is the full Bugeye WRX diff config compaired to a 06 Forester?? are the centre diff's of the same type? cheers Vik |
Your centre diff is a viscous type, what you may mean is the front diff?
STI's with DCCD (new age) normally have an LSD on the front and wrx's are normally open, but the car itself should not be too bad with snow tyres on, just dont go too mad ;) |
I have the full fat studded tyres fitted.. no messing about with studless 'friction' tyres here :)
this is a 100% road car, just want the car a little more neutral in the corners, feels like the WRX washes out the front more than my old forester. OK.. would you or anyone here know if the Forester has a LSD fitted at the front?? I guess that changing a front diff means Gbox out = €€€ So I think that I should look at improving what I have.... I guess maybe I should ask in the Suspension sub area, but what are the stage 1 suspension mods to a WRX wagon?? Whiteline rear ARB BSR33 or BSR33Z (22mm) Whiteline rear ARB mount KBR21-22 (22mm) Drop links KLC26 anything else?? thanks Vik |
Tony..
I like your location stamp.. Location: Somewhere between Heaven and Slough I guess its a reference to purgatory... tho' Slough (Pronounced: Sl-uff) is closer to hell than purgatory ;) Vik <<<-- Reading'ite . . . now where is that :getscoat: icon :D |
