Methanol as an additive
It's become popular to use methanol/petrol mix these days especially with those with multi-map facility. The popular mix ratio seems to be 20%
Are there advantages of using much lower concentrations say, 3-5% as you might with an octane booster, without the need for any map adjustment? JohnD |
I`ve also heard of people running up to 5% in with the fuel as an alternative to octane booster, although im not 100% certain if this is safe or even a good idea or not mate, tbh i think this subject is best left to one of the mappers/specialists on here to give there thoughts on it,be patient buddy and someone will come to your aid shortly.:thumb:

Methanol as Octane booster I wouldn't use, just due most common ingredient of the Octane booster is,MTBE, ETBE,Ethanol or Toluene
About the octane boosters and fuels great post http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/misc/octanebooster.html DIY Octane booster http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums...e-booster.html Jura |
Methanol lowers the calorific value of the fule, without mapping it will kill your engine.
