Have you cleaned these before?
How do u clean the idle valve as it has a moving part inside that turns and once off the car how do u get to it all?

Cheers

normally, i have not taken mine off the car but on my old pug they suffered from icv sticking, so you unbolt it from the car and it has a stepper motor that you spray and that cleans the mechanism, as for the maf, you are best spraying it with brake or carb cleaner and leaving it to dry, they are very very fragile things

There was an article in total impreza I think the issue before it finished that showed you how to do it. Spray brake cleaner into the icv and then carefully put the chuck of the drill on the spindle and spin it. Make sure you get a new gasket for refitting though. Hope that helps.
