28 year old 9 years no claims WRX

Hi guys,

I'm buying my first Subaru on Saturday (WRX 2004) and the best quote I can find from compare websites is £808 with £250 excess.

Are there better insurers suited to performance cars and in particular flexible if I later add modifications?

I'm 28, 9 years no claims, and currently main driver on a Fiat 500 (fear me)

I see some of the insurers here require a year+ ownership of a performance vehicle - Obviously I don't meet that requirement, though I did once drive a V6 Vectra which excited cyclists could overtake :D

Many thanks,
Mike

List of insurers known here fella

Just to name a few give these a go, and who ever was the cheapest in the compare site ring them direct as I saved a further £200 on the price they gave me :thumb:

When you get your price always tell them you have had cheaper :lol1: won't do you any harm just to see how much you can save :thumb:

Give greenlight a chance too, I have my modified stage 3 wrx and 4.6 V8 X5 insured with them, both well under what you are being quoted and I am in NI (land of the rip off insurance)

+1 for Greenlight
None of the others quoted on here could be arsed ringing me back, I've just had fully comp with all the extras for £420 with these :thumb:

Inexperienced drivers with high performance cars

Hi Mjharper,

That's a really competitive deal.

Most Underwriters behind preferentially rated schemes regard performance car driving experience as a pre-requisite for meeting scheme acceptance criteria and with the jump in performance from a Fiat 500 to a Subaru Impreza WRX in mind, I cannot think of an Underwriter who would not want progressive driving experience in between.

Getting cover for £600 for a Subaru Impreza WRX without previous performance driving experience is a very good deal indeed.

Ollie has certainly come up trumps for you on this occasion and if he can continue to cover drivers without performance experience there will be plenty of people that would welcome a helping hand in getting their first high performance car.

Good work Ollie, this weeks service to the community goes to you :thumb::notworthy

Kind regards

Tony
