Agreed.

yabbadoo4 13 September 2015 06:04 PM

thanks. i just re read the link to the story and got angry about it all over again. simply a travesty that she gets to swan off with the money and house etc even after being found out as a cheat, liar and thief. at least around this forum he will always be held in high regard for his work with subarus and always willing to help and answer questions and impart his knowledge which he did so to myself on a few occasions. and who knows, hopefully karma will pay her a visit sometime soon and justice will be done. R.I.P harvey.

After having been absent from the Subaru community for over 5 years, I was shocked and appalled to read of Harvey's untimely death, and even more shocked and disgusted to read of the vile and despicable acts of his so-called wife.

I knew Harvey personally and visited his house on quite a few occasions. He also had a couple of runs from Darlington out to my neck of the woods up here in the North Pennines. He certainly didn't suffer fools but he was 100% genuine and passionate - and had a very generous side to him too. He had a big personality - the sort you don't forget in a while. His wife certainly had me fooled too. I simply cannot believe how one human being could treat another like that. I hope she endures a miserable and lonely old age during which she can contemplate the truly nasty piece of work she is.

Haven't been on here in a while.
I knew Harvey... I knew his wife.

Read all the news reports.

I saw Harvey a.week before he died. He was on his sofa... In pain... I didn't stay long.... We fed his geese.

I tried to stay in touch after his death and got nothing.

Oh my goodness.... What transpired....!!!
Shocked and saddened.

Poor HS.

Harvey and Simon were both very good to me over the years.
So this is on both sides of my track car (which lived in Harveys back garden for a while)

Took me a while to read through all of the pages, And I am now at a stage where I feel i need to comment.

First off, I am Dawns son, Harvey was my step Dad. Before you make your judgement, please read on.

I myself am completely shocked at the aftermath of Harvey's death and was actually at the house when the Police came and arrested my mum right at the beginning of the investigation.

In the beginning I did not believe it, I must admit, I could not come to think the person who raised me could do such a thing, could not get my head round it. My chain of thought started to change when the visits to Turkey started happening and the memory of Harvey was seemingly diminished.

Do not believe everything you read in the papers, how often have they been proved to tell a few lies or beef up something minor to sell a story? I had nothing to do with the Will or the selling of products after his death, Just felt i had to clarify this.

It is true, me and Harvey did not always see eye to eye in certain things, usually my generation vs his generation way of thinking, saying he did not rate me? A bit low and not exactly true, we had an unusual relationship that was indeed up and down at times, what always brought us back together was the cars, spending countless hours helping him with his stock and delivery parts to couriers or customers, getting parts ready to be shipped out amongst other things.

When i bought my first Subaru all I could think of was "I wish Harvey was here so I could ask him this, ask him that, get his advice ect". I learned a lot watching Harvey, listening to him, helping him with the cars, Although we did not always get on, he will never be forgotten and will always be respected by myself.

I no longer have any communication with my mum and I have moved to a completely different part of the Country. I hope I do not get judged because of someone else's actions.

Jesus h christ what a terrible read. Rip harvey

yabbadoo4 30 April 2016 12:34 PM

very honest of you to say who you are, as you can probably tell harvey was held in high regard around here for obvious reasons. on more than a few occasions he helped me with questions when i was a new owner and his knowledge will always be missed along with his work developing the parts and tuning of these cars. i didnt know harvey personally but many on here did hence the high feelings regarding your mums actions. it must have been difficult reading the resentment towards your mother but this is a story which would touch most people outside the subaru community regarding the outcome and actions of her after harveys death. she knew full well people on this forum would snap up harveys stock and parts and deliberately set out to rip people off. a very sad tale indeed.

Got nothing to hide mate,

In all honestly, it was difficult in the beginning hearing peoples reactions to the news stories but now, i sympathize with and completely understand most, if not all of the comments that have been made.
