I have an Impreza V1 93 JDM
wikipedia says bring factory 240hp

The vehicle has installed a catback Kakimoto 3.5 "
recently install a apexi air filter and intake resonator delete

Being OBD1 is much more difficult to map to the ecu
and much more where this vehicle was never sold (Central America, approximately 10 to 20 cars 92-99 GC8 models)
nobody sells chips or something else


-first question
It is necessary to map the ecu for these changes? OBD1
I felt better response with the intake resonator delete

-second question
As many BHP will have with the current configuration

(13psi of boost TD05H, BKR6EIX spark plugs, stock downpipe, kakimoto 3.5" catback, Apexi power intake filter, apexi resonator delete, new stage 1 exedy clutch, 95 octane rating in my country)

I didn't get my old 93 wrx mapped for those mods but I wouldn't run the car on 95 RON,if you can buy higher octane fuel that would be best or put some octance booster in it.

I doubt the power would increase that much if you can decat the exhaust that would help.

You could have a look on NASIOC as I know they is a guy on there (rob) who sells chips for the GC cars

I'd say it will always benefit from a map, but as it is nearly 20 years old, is it worth it?

What fuel can you get where you are ??

I really wouldn't start modding a 20 year old car.
If you do, make sure you have deep pockets for when parts such as suspension, gearbox, diffs and engine start to go wrong. :thumb:

95 Octane Super or Vpower

Thats true, good that most engine parts can be obtained of a USMD 02-04 EJ20
here I have not needed to do anything to the engine, 155xxx kms

What octane is your V power as it does vary Uk it's 99,Germany 100,France 98 and USA it's about 98 as well.

V power when is introduced in my country in 2000 was 98 octane, since 2006 95 octane with some additives :(

95 Ron fuel won't do you any favours on the original map.

octane booster is necesary
