Oil change
Thinking of doing a mid interval oil change. I have a 2005 blobeye wrx ppp and have read that following an oil change you need to turn the engine over without it starting to get the oil round the engine - is this right? It is not just a case like every other car of just draining the oil, refilling, checking the level is right (topping up if req'd) and bobs your uncle?? I've never had a boxer engine before so am looking for any hints... Cheers

Some people disconnect the crank sensor and crank it over (wont start) this will circulate the oil and then carry on afterwards. Personally I have never done this

pm ps lewis, he will tell you the correct cranking procedure, he is very anal about oil changes

I crank mine. Only takes 2mins on my classic. Might be over the top but those 2min could just add a little life to the engine

I disconnect the crank sensor, turn over for 20-30 seconds reconnect and fire her up...dont forget to pre fill the oil filter :)

Whether you decide to disconnect the crank sensor or not, ensure you pre-fill the oil filter, it's a must!!

dont bother mate just stick her up
