New Brake Discs and Pads all round
Had a service at Roger Clark Motorsport for my 2006 R. It came in at £630 including MOT - it was the big 6 year service and although more than rivals was less than Subaru main dealers and they come highly recommended on here and elsewhere.
They've told me I need to get new discs and pads on all four wheels. They've quoted £726 using genuine parts and £546 using Subaru pads and after market discs - they said they wouldn't use after market pads but after market discs were fine. This cost includes labour at £49 per hour for three hours. Should I go ahead with this or is any half decent mechanic able to this job? A quick look on the net tells me that Mr Clutch have a fixed price of £330 to replace all pads and discs. Should I just run it up to my local brake centre or let Roger Clark do it. Regards. |
Sounds expensive. Whats a 2006 R? If its an STi then cheap Brembo stuff here http://www.nextdaybrakes.com Any decent mechanic will be able to do the job.

order your discs and pads from import car parts, the whole lot comes to £115 for front/ back discs and pads, Not genuine but still to OEM standards
http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/part...42&var=27&dc=y Any local grease monkey can fit these. it's very easy to do when on a ramp and shouldn't take very long at all |
Any competent mechanic will be able to change the brakes.
Send us your car reg and I will quote you happy for discs and pads. :thumb: |
