new fault showing

hi all,ive posted a prob ive been having before with fault codes P0420 and P0171, cat efficiency and lean mixture, its blown up my newly built engine already after 4000kms, been trying everything to get rid of these faults for long time. ive put another long block in now and im driving very slow in it,not using boost at all. i used different code reader and it showing fault P0546,exhaust temp sensor, could this be causing all my probs??? the cat in the uppipe is missing by the looks of it,last owner fitted straight through pipe. im thinking if i fit new sensor it will burn out fast due to too much heat, ive heard i can fit 2.2ohm resistor to loom and this might work?? what ye guys think?? any help much appreciated.

Get the car to someone that knows what they are doing . Best advice I can give you

Hi there

Those first two errors are for lambda sensor...This P0546 is EGT error, assume previous owner fitted STi up pipe on the WRX,STi up pipe don't have EGT and due this you are getting this error,if you know someone who mapping the car, this can delete this error via RomRaider/EcuFlash etc,but not via EcuTek or you can buy 2.2k Ohm resistor from Maplins

Have look on this guide:

thanks jura, there is an egt sensor fitted into the upipe, havent taken it out yet, i have a new front denso 02 sensor fitted, im just wondering is a waist of money to fit a new egt sensor or should i start looking around the fact the denso 02 sensor i fitted isnt oe part, i got it from denso supplier,it has same part number as the oe one:wonder:

If its fitted EGT in the Up pipe, something must triggering this error, but this guide from Scoobypedia is good and can help

What car you have?

If its New age there should be 4 wire Denso,on the Classic is 3 wires Bosch

OE Part number is : 226141AA042,22614 AA042,22641AA042 and Denso part number is DOX-0306

its a 01 bug wrx,has 4 wire 02 sensor. it used to have the front 02 sensor as a fault code but thats gone since i fitted new sensor, then the lean mixture fault appeared instead.got it from sparkplugs-uk, they supply oe denso sensors which has same number as oe subaru part. the only difference being its way cheaper, maybe theres a reason for that??

I don't think so this will trigger EGT error which you have, but yes those cheaper Denso working well,we have before one fitted and has been faultless

Try resistor mod on the EGT,this should help clear the EGT error

ok,il try fitting the resistor and let you know how i get on,thanks for your help:thumb:
