jdm conversion?

hello all,
i am planning a mapping session for my subby, want to go about 300-320 ps, and want to upgrade my gearbox too.
is it really worth it to upgrade to jdm 5 speed and matching diff, are they really that much stronger? heard about rating upto 350-400ps!
any opinions welcome....
