Lateral built monster spec 2.35 and many others
So....
I know people usually come out with the 'it pains me to do this' but it really does, i'm shaking in dread and anger writing this as it really isn't where i want to be right now but unfortunately a split from the missus and having to find a new home has put me here. It is with great regret that i have to break my build before it was ever truely finished. I will only begin breaking once the engine has sold as it is still currently in the vehicle and being used to get me to where i need to go so can still be heard running if need be Lateral built 2.35: Closed deck EJ22 with under piston squirters Lateral 2.35 stroker kit Arrow lightweight billet crank ACL Race bearings 14mm head stud conversion Cosworth head gaskets Cosworth baffle plate Port and polished Version 8 STI AVCS heads Double valve springs Titanium retainers Billet inconel exhaust valves Billet inlet valves LP06 hot road/race cams Adjustable exhaust cam gears Kevlar timing belt New oil modine timing belt kit and water pump Lateral high flow oil pump Newage inlet manifold with Carl Davey insulated manifold spacers I have a receipt of £12k for this engine build. Engine has done 4K miles, max boost of 0.5 bar as never got to finish the project through a continuous string of family issues which resulted in financial ones. First 50 miles were on Millers running in oil (10w50). Changed the filter and used oil i was suggested to run in on the next 450 miles, Millers semi-synthetic 10w-50. Again, 500 miles, no filter just oil this time. At 1K miles, new genuine subaru filter and Silkolene Pro R 15W/50 ester synthetic was put in. At 2.5K miles the same again but this time with a K&N high performance oil filter recommended to me by a very renouned engine builder. Looking for £7500 ono Other bits that will go on sale pending the sale of the engine: Garret GT35R (non billet) with hayward and scott rotated pipework £1100 Turbosmart 48mm external wastegate £150 Blobeye 6 speed box with shafts, diff and prop £1800 1000cc injectors £300 Billet Parralell fuel rails with fuelab FPR and braided fuel lines £200 Bosch 044 with pump cradle, swirl pot and braided fuel lines £170 Deaustchwerks 300 LPH intank fuel pump £70 Syvecs S6 ECU £1100 Wideband lambda sensor £120 3" Miltek rear section £180 Hybrid front mount intercooler £100 2 x OMP champ race seats complete with rails and mounts £350 Power enterprise 650cc injectors £280 Large K&N air filter with RCM 100mm trumpet £75 RCM unequal length manifold with DEI heat wrap £250 K-sport 356mm 8 piston front brake conversion with Blue stuff pads (covered 1.5k) £650 more to be listed Now i'm in no rush to get rid so i wont be accepting silly offers as i would rather complete the project, even if it takes me another year, than take an offer well below par :) |
hi mate intersted in the rcm headers you have are u willing to sell them now?
cheers cj |
Sorry CJ, i won't be selling them until the engine is sold
|
Sorry to hear the news Tom.

ok mate, if u can give me first refusal on them once the engine has gone that would be great!
|
Wow nice price for a finished 2.35! What did you have left to do to finish the car?

TX. To be honest, it doesnt need a great deal to finish it, i've got a lot of bits i still need to fit and only really need to buy a few more things but with time and tight money constraints i cant see me getting it finished within the next year and thought i'd put it up and see if it sells. If it doesn't and i have the time and money in the next year then i'll finish and be content with it, if it sells then i can live a little easier... But im in no rush right now :) |
Is there no way you can finish and keep it?
Obviously I don't know your circumstances or that of the break up but don't rush into a sale if its your pride and joy and there is any way you can hold on to it. You may live to regret it and keeping it will give you a focus to help deal with your break up |
Hope everything goes easy for you bro. 1st dibs on the wideband, does it have a gauge?
|
Sorry to hear there
But we will take Garret GT35R (non billet) with hayward and scott rotated pipework with Turbosmart 48mm external wastegate Jura |
ecu here plz
|
Air filter and trumpet here please.

Hi Tom,

Alpha - I could finish it... eventually. Unfortunately ive been sitting on this idea for the last 6 months and its not something i want to be doing. Maybe fate will throw a little something my way before the engine sells
Kas - No gauge i'm afraid Thanks Jura, you have first dibs Fud - First dibs on the ecu Clive - unfortunately you're second in line for the filter and trumpet, pending a reply from Liam.44 Lucko - it's a catback not a turbo back Arch - second in line to Fud Steve - Yes, life really does kick you while you're down but let's hope there's some light at the end of the tunnel. First dibs on the k-sports Please don't forget chaps, engine will need to be sold before these items will be officially sold :thumb: |
Gutted for you mate.
Can I please have first refusal on 044, cradle, swirl pot and braided lines please, pending engine sale obviously, cheers Stephen |

|
hi bud,
sorry to see you breaking your build. is the FMIC just the core or does it includeall of the pipework and accesories etc? would it fit a newage wrx or is the pipework matched to the GT35? Thanks, Jamie |
First dibs on the fuel rails, lines and fpr
Inbox me when its up for sale thanks |
2nd dibs on brakes and intercooler please...... Gutted for you though, would prefer you to finish it
|
Very good specced & built engine, a bargain at that price.
|
Right, the dibbs table is as follows:
headers cjquicksilver Wideband Kas Rotated kit, wastegate and turbo Jura Matt R Syvecs Fud Arch Filter and trumpet Liam.44 Dannyeg Mad hammer Jura Intercooler Liam.44 Berks-jack Rbon91 Stoff1 1000cc injectors, swirl pot, fuel rails and lines Dannyeg macs sti Gotherbridge2007 Milltek Lucko K-sports Steve (BBY) Stoff1 Bosch 044 Macs sti Seats Matt R If i've forgotten anyone please let me know However, dont forget that the engine needs to sell first :) |
Also, in reply to many peoples questions, the intercooler piping is matched up to my rotated setup, it's not going to handle a great amount of boost in this setup either, however, i have got another lot of piping to go with it which is for standard position turbos.
