Dave Y 05 October 2012 06:18 PM

perhaps its my age but i cant find them in their online shop.

frayz 05 October 2012 11:32 PM

ASP do sooooooo much more than what's in their online shop.

Just give Alyn a call, customer service is superb. :)

stockcar 10 October 2012 08:53 PM

so was anyone lucky enough to get a feel of Frayz' rod on sunday.................

The Tog 11 October 2012 12:02 PM

I've just given Alyn a call and ordered up the 6 speed version. Looking forward to it. :) The only thing he did say was that on some 6 speeds one of the bushes doesn't quite fit, no rhyme nor reason, not tied to a specific year. It is rare, but has happened. Anyone had this? Alyn says if it doesn't fit they will machine it to fit which is fine, but just wondering. Sods law it'll happen to me. :(

frayz 11 October 2012 12:23 PM

Few people had a feel of my knob on Sunday Alyn.

They all seemed quite impressed, quite a result for me seeing as its a Roundhead :D

stonejedi 11 October 2012 12:30 PM

I didt get a feel of your knob I didn't even get offered I thought we were friends;).

Bushes arrived today as promised, cheers mate. Looking forward to getting them on the car! :)

stockcar 12 October 2012 08:29 PM

no worries Lenny.........

as for the rare oddball linkage they are almost a hybrid between 5 & 6spd linkages but so oddball to not worry about and we simply modify as required as a "one-off".........

Cheers, do you advise greasing the bushes as they go in? I'm wondering about any whining being transmitted through the nylon bushes?

frayz 14 October 2012 05:30 PM

I didn't find any increased NVH on my install Lenny.

M2RTXhawkeye 14 October 2012 05:44 PM

Good stuff, just wondering. Did you grease them before you put them in?

frayz 14 October 2012 06:35 PM

Yes, just a little copper slip on them and the crush rods. :)

stockcar 14 October 2012 07:46 PM

we normally use RED hydraulic grease but "any lube helps".............

banny sti 14 October 2012 07:48 PM

Quick question Alyn, how does the gear change on the kartboy shifter compare to the standard sti quickshift?

MattyB1983 15 October 2012 01:08 PM

Just ordered myself a set, coupled with the short shifter I ordered yesterday it should be sweet.

M2RTXhawkeye 17 October 2012 08:46 PM

Alyn will give you call tomorrow mate to put in a order. Will this be the same kit for a jdm 6 speed?

Cheers

6spd STi does not have a short shift as std or do you mean the aftermarket STi q/shift linkage??

apart from the Kartboy not being remotely as expensive then i can't give you a direct comparison as i haven't driven them back to back but both quality kits.............

could u pm a price for a polybush full set for a 1997 type r please. and gear shift set for a 5 speed cheers rob

MattyB1983 18 October 2012 08:49 PM

Alyn,
I've not had a chance to post these out yet but will do tomorrow.

Do you sell a quickshift for the classic ? I've just fitted one of those cheap eBay ones to my STI V3 and found it no different to the standard shift.
Have you tested yours on a classic ??

Stevesbluewrx 19 October 2012 12:45 AM

After the joy of feeling Frayz knob and shifter at Prodrive I so want this kit. Thanks again Frayz.....it was a dream come true touching the bomber and its owner. lol

Alyn, will be in contact again very soon. Need to get the kids Xmas present done first then will call you (more than likely in the next few days rather than waitingfor the kids presents) .

Cheers
Steve

stockcar 19 October 2012 08:37 AM

Matty would need some pics of the exact lever you have as the early classics have 2x different versions and the early one is a pain to sort.......

whilst i'm happy to answer questions i am aware that i have no Advertiser priveleges on this board so please dont ask about pricing as i cant/wont answer due to respect for the BBS.....

cheers, allyn

The Tog 20 October 2012 12:25 PM

That's the bushes fitted, all went well and really chuffed.

Cheers Alyn, impressed with the product and the service, I'll definetly be ordering more bits from you... :)

M2RTXhawkeye 20 October 2012 12:29 PM

Alyn bushes arrived this morning mate. Having them fitted with the box Monday can't wait.
