They say they are free but they always charge. Is there a possible site that does free ones?

There is, but they'll charge about £70-100 to move it in the future....

Try http://easily.co.uk only £10 for a .co.uk domain for two years (you then use your ISP webspace for your site and can forward email to your ISP email account also)

Same place that you get a free lunch. Truth is that you'll pay in the long term either being forced to pay for hosting or having to pay to move to another host.
