Turbo gone ? Or worse ?
 

Hi guys,

Hoping some of you could point me in the right direction here

Was driving the other day when my car (V3 Type R) started to make a funny noise after full boost, sounded like there was a huge hole in the exhaust

When I got home I investigated under the bonnet, sounded like it was coming from the turbo area, the noise was present across the whole rev range I think. It then suddenly went away

3 days later (today) I started her again, she seemed ever so slightly less keen than usual and I noticed a small puff of white smoke, possibly exhaust, come from the right front wheel area.

Upon driving her she wouldn't boost, just pop, bang and stutter. I popped into the shops, returned back to the car headed home and thought I'd try again. This time I was incredibly gentle in letting the revs rise slow and the boost build slow. Full boost, no problem and now seems fine

Any ideas ?

Try putting your hand over the exhaust and see if that's gone first.

It can't be terminal if it's now running well ..... hope it stays that way!
