HI
You may have seen my ealier thread about my scoob being car-jacked from ASDA. I am now turning my thoughts to what do I buy to replace the Scoob. Although I loved that car - in fact its the longest I have kept a car, the way I feel at the moment I dont want to replace it with something that could attract the same danger to my family. So what do I do ? Cars are not only essential transport but my main hobby and interest. So has anyone any ideas for an interesting replacement, but one thats going to be less of a target. |

Take a look at a Honda Accord Type R. I owned one and they will stay with a Scooby around the twisty bits in the dry. Not quite as fast but a little more understated and without the cult following. Good build quality and fun combined

Saab 9-3 Aero - second hand - they loose a lot in depreciation - I run a 185bhp 900 as a runaround and in midrage it pulls nearly as good as the scoob and has left many a bmw 328/330 trailing. Saab may n ot handle but fit a viggen rescue kit from abbott and you are away. You will see a number of people on here have saabs - 9-5 is also an excellent car- build quality ios far better than scoob and they have big boots so you can fit in the shopping as well as a good supply of pipes & slipper. Seem to have no image whatsover with the current youth so hopefully they wont touch it. .....Andy

Stratman,
I'll go with Gadge ;) I'm an ex-scooby owner with an Alfa 156. All I can say is you will miss the power and noise but you wont miss the running costs. Unless you go for a new 156 GTA that is. :) If you don't want to trust in Italian machinery what about a Mondeo V6, performance and handling are quite good and won't attract to much attention. Then there's also the Audi/BMW route. :( If you can't bring yourself to loose that much performance I'd advise you to have a test drive in a Skoda Octavia RS Turbo. Unbelievable for the money and I would have bought one over the Alfa if the seats had been a little softer for my wifes bad back. Cheers Lee |
what about a golf v6 4-motion,de-badge it and it looks like any other golf.
