Smoothie's anyone??
Looking on youtube they look quite easy and tasty, but do they taste like $hit, or quite nice.
Is it a fad, or a sensible drink. |
I make them a lot for my son as a way of getting fruit in him. Normally a banana some soya milk, oats, honey, peanut butter or whatever is in the fruit bowl or fridge.
|
Are they healthy. A quick google gives mixed opinions (typical of the internet).
|
My wife and children have them for breakfast: Bananas, kiwis, respberries, juice (apple or orange). Very healthy.
Personally I think they have the consistency of vomit, but that is just me ... |
We had the smoothie fad a few years ago, bought the machine and bags of fruit, some of them tasted nice but some were rank, tbh i thought it was cheaper to buy them ready made.
|
thts what i thought tbh
|
I've always had one every day as recommended (for me anyway) by a nutritionist
1 kiwi fruit Handful strawberries Handful blueberries Raspberries 1/2 Banana 2 spoonfuls porridge oats Spoonful sunflower seeds Spoonful linseeds Spoonful pumpkin seeds 3 scoops ultra meal whey protein Apple and elderflower juice Filtered water It all makes about a pint :) ....and off to work on me bike When i get to work I have my 2nd breakfast, porridge :thumb: |
Is that your 5 a day Sipie?
|
Agree with the nutritional benefits but I just can't stand the texture
|
Any smoothie tastes good....so long as you mix in the following ingredients....
1 part golden rum 1 part dark rum 1 part apricot brandy ½ part 151-proof rum and a Dash of grenadine or other syrup :D ;) |
we usually get a carton of Asdas own brand smoothie, testes just the same as Innocent's but at fraction of the price, think Asda usually have them for a £1 a carton :)
