v1 sti info help.

are the heads on v1 sti pretty much standered wrx items, how would i go about the v3/4 heads is it true that these heads can rev higher due to the cams ect bigger valve solid lifters, and better flow. is it possible to put v3 inlet on my v1, and back to the original que, would sti changed the cams, or was this very early days for sti and dident do this till later? hope you guys can help, phil

If they are gen STI heads then lifters are solid shimed items & cams are higher lift than WRX. The V3 heads are the best & will fit your V1 bottom end. The noise you hear when cold is probably piston slap & is normal on STIs due to forged pistons as long as it goes when warmed up then don't worry.

dont think there solid on these early ones buddy. i no the heads will fit but are the inlet manifold bolt pattern the same? is there any kind of code i can look for on the heads, its got cdb so im persuming its the original heads. defo hydro tapp tick not piston slap.
