How do the porsche ones compare to ap 6 pots or are they essentially the same?

jura11 04 September 2012 06:04 PM

Great prices Matt and good luck with the sale:thumb:

Jura

Porsche caliper is probably a slightly better caliper tbh. Pagid black pads and 355 AP discs.

need4speeduk 04 September 2012 08:17 PM

Cheers Jura.

With new discs you could still have a complete AP 6 pot set up for £1200. Not bad when you consider the cost new. Good £500-600 saving.

Proper brake kits, both of them. Porsche kit looks lovely

MattyB1983 04 September 2012 08:46 PM

I have the porsche setup, utterly fantastic.

Great price, GLWTS

They probably would if you had 19's like I had on my Passat.

Fit over 18" wheels with an offset of 45 or less

a5h 05 September 2012 09:52 AM

The AP link is not working what wheels would you need for them?

need4speeduk 05 September 2012 10:29 AM

AP's will fit under 17"s

need4speeduk 05 September 2012 10:50 AM

The AP calipers are £400 each on their own. The you've got the pads, bells, brackets. New discs will vary from £250-£400 depending what you use. New the kits cost £1800 +

a5h 05 September 2012 11:02 AM

What comes with them?
is there any chance of some pictures?
Where abouts are you as would like to see before I buy so to speak?

need4speeduk 05 September 2012 11:07 AM

Caliper number CP7040 in red. I'm in London or Andover. Everything included other than discs. Pics are in the link. If it's not working look in the for sale section on 22b in July and you'll see them.

a5h 05 September 2012 11:15 AM

Ok they look good Will the 355 fit under standard 17" s?

need4speeduk 05 September 2012 11:19 AM

On the AP set up yes. Not with the Porsche set up as they need 18" and wider offset

a5h 05 September 2012 12:03 PM

Mate I need to find out how much the discs are and where I can get them from. But I am interested pending me being able to get all the needed bits.

need4speeduk 05 September 2012 12:10 PM

You just need discs mate. Nothing else. Call Alyn at aspeformamce. He can sort discs for you.

MelTypeR 05 September 2012 12:22 PM

Matt, just pm'd you re the porsche setup.

Matt I'm sure you can fit both of them with 356mm discs under 17" but you will need low offset 9JX17"(Drag DR-31,Team Dynamics,Rota etc.)

Jura

need4speeduk 05 September 2012 04:38 PM

Porsche need 18" wheels Jura and offset of less than 45.

They're are proper Porsche cup motorsport calipers and a bit bigger than the AP's mate.

Cheers

MattyB1983 05 September 2012 04:50 PM

Yes, Porsche calipers need 18" wheels.

MelTypeR 05 September 2012 05:15 PM

Sorry for this being a thick question, but is 53 offset less of more then 45?
My wheels are 18's though.

Obvioulsy i know 53 is more then 45 in numbers, but didnt regarding offset if a higher number meant a small offset?

Mel
