Krackow

Been to a conference with work in the city of Krackow, Poland for 5 days.

A beautiful city indeed & will take some beating.

What's the most iconic, memorable or romantic city you have been to and why?

Hawkeye D 02 September 2012 09:41 PM

New York, just the sheer size of everything. Views from the Empire State etc.
Amazing place, with food to match!

Krakow is very nice, been there with the missus (polish) a few times. Did you go see the salt mines? Well worth seeing if you ever go back.

Sydney Australia, amazing city can't wait to go back!

I've been to Abu Dhabi and Dubai and was really disapointed with both, worked over there for over a year and had some great nights out but that was only because of the people I was with, although did have a memorable night in Dubai where I had drunk 6 or so beers yet an Arab still happily gave me a shot of his M5 telling to keep my foot down until we were well into 3 figures! god knows what would have happened to me had it gone wrong! would probably still be in jail now....

Riga in Latvia was amazing but unfortunately didn't get a night out as it was -25c and I was working most of the time.

Rostock in Germany is a bit bleak but again it was extremely cold with heavy snow and exploring wasn't as high on the list as beer!

Dieppe was an unusual town, went for a night out and it was an experience to say the least....

Groningen, WOW! think it's the student capital of Holland

Rotterdam was good

Delfzil was a great wee town, had some great nights out there...

Zeebrugge is an absolute dump, the opposite of what I expected,

and finally Ooestende, a great great place and the same as above, did not expect it to be so good there.

Its a foolish man who underestimates Skeggy!

Osimabu 03 September 2012 06:29 AM

But Skeggy's not a city, yet....

I'd give Stockholm a vote, partly for the Vasa Museum:

It makes the Mary Rose look a little decayed!

Favourite is George Town, Grand Cayman.

Not sure it counts as a city, but having a cocktail on a balcony watching full scale replica pirate ships go by in the clear blue caribbean sea is pretty cool.

Second is Sorrento in Italy. Charming place, good food, great atmosphere.

CapeTown, Vancouver, Tokyo - all pretty special in their own way

downtown basra the night time tracer fire lights up the sky really nice. lol.

kabul the veiws from the mountains that surround it are great and some good off roading to be had. shame you need to be armed to the teeth with either place.

calgary is a really nice city. goodnights on the beer there
