what do u think about the situation with the police there at the moment if u have been in the past few weeks. did anyone go over the bank holiday just been?

astraboy 10 May 2002 01:06 PM

I go every week and I think its disgusting.
40 police officers on the road, all on overtime and that little girl from Walton is still missing. I dont like to use the phrase "havent you got anything better to do" on the police but on this occasion I really think they do.
I will be there this and every weekend. If they try to arrenst me for driving my legal, taxed an insured car on the road then I will sue them uphill and down dale.
have you got a letter yet?
astraboy.

i have almost 7000 posts on the saxo site, only just joined up here recently cos my dad wants to sell his scooby so i shoved an advert on here for him. might stick around though, seems like quite a busy forum :)

A few of us go from the Bracknell neck of the woods, and the way the Police are running it is appalling. They were causing more a nuisance to everybody, than they were trying to ease the problem i.e. cars blocking the traffic lights up, etc...

However, I hope you noticed that there was an undercover Police officer stood at the traffic lights recording everybodies details, and the speeds they were doing on video camera. Therefore all those people booting it from the lights (Type R, TRD Celica, Sunny GTi-R, etc...) were all caught on more than once occasion by him. The copper also said that they will be sending out letters to all those caught within the next two weeks.

The undercover Green Scooby was also there - so be warned.

Adam, welcome to the board, hope you stick around :) Make sure you make your way to the muppet show where all the fun is :D ;)

(We sometimes allow forums like this one to have a bit too.....of fun that is ;))

It does make me mad seeing police wasting their time on things like that when there are missing children.

If I was one of the parents with the missing child, I don't know how I would be feeling but it certainly would not be with any positivity towards the police.

Phill 10 May 2002 01:29 PM

Astraboy,
Sorry mate i have not been in a while, and ur right American tanks and modded fords to seem to rule the roost down there..

The car is a White RS Turbo, other than that it's just like most of the cars there, loud, low, with reasonable ICE. The owner lives in Woking and also has a mint red / organe Mk1 XR2 !!

Cheers,

Phill

Adam_K 10 May 2002 01:32 PM

i don't think i will be getting any trouble from the police in the near future, cos i'm driving round in a 12v 3 cylinder 1lite corsa as a hire car, cos some bástard piled into the back of my car and wrote it off and then drove off :(

the police can't find the owner of the car even though i got the reg plate :(. so now i have a fault claim on my record cos there is nobody to claim against, and no car of my own :(

astraboy 10 May 2002 01:35 PM

Yeah I saw him. Unluckily after I had booted it off the lights :o
I lifted off at 40 though and didnt spin up so I think I'll be alright, I just got there fairly quickly ;)
I meet all my mates at bracknell before we go down too. Where do you meet up mate?
astraboy.

Adam_K 10 May 2002 01:38 PM

Scott W 10 May 2002 01:44 PM

Astraboy, Graham Stocker and myself just meet up (Graham lives just around the corner from me) at mine. We will then normally meet a few others there (a few lurkers on the board ;)), as they tend to get there a lot earlier than us. We normally leave Bracknell about 7ish when we go.

Scott W 10 May 2002 01:45 PM

Adam, sorry to see those pictures - that was a nice looking car :(

Out of interest, did anybody see why that chap in the Skyline got pulled?

astraboy 10 May 2002 01:47 PM

Yeah I've met Graham before. Ask Graham where he met me and that is where we all meet up. We ususally punt down there about 8.30 so that explains why we never see you.
I'll have to chuck you a mail mate. giz us two secs.
astraboy.

Adam_K 10 May 2002 01:49 PM

ahhhh well, shít happens, but hopefully i will get something bigger and better out of the situation.

wish i could get a scooby, but being 20 with 2 claims and 3 points and 0 years NCB, i don't really stand much chance.

closest i get is when my dad lets me drive his scoobs.

astraboy 10 May 2002 02:13 PM

Scott the guy in the Skyline got pulled prolly cos he was driving a skyline
I was told to get in the lane that takes me to all the coppers even though I wanted to get on the A3
Prolly thought "Oh nice cossie. I'll have him!"
Sh1t happens though.
YHM by the way.
astraboy.

HKSubaru 10 May 2002 02:17 PM

Katana 10 May 2002 07:44 PM

I don't get it. The way I look at cruise is to park up and compare each other's machines right? Not race em like a tiny minority does. Whats the problem with it? The police thinks that motorists are public enemy number one instead of real criminals. I love their efficiency when it comes to dealing with motorist offenses, yet unable to patrol a neighbourhood. My house along with several of my neighbours has all been vandalized for the past few weeks. It only stoped because I found the culprit in the act and did something about it.

The police were far from interested in dealing with this problem. I say we give them a taste of their own medicine and catch the police speeding , parking on double yellow lines, driving while eating a mars bar and etc. Keep in mind that without their little blue lights, they have to obey the same traffic rules as us. That'll teach them...
