18 x 9.5J Rolled tyres?
 

Hello All,

I have a 2005 wide track STi. It came with 18” 9.5J wheels, with 225 wide tyres which have been rolled on. I don’t like the rolled tyres look and the fact that if I touch anything the wheel will be destroyed! Can I fit a 255 wide tyre on these rims on my car? Any input would be welcome and also peoples options on the rolled tyres.

We are run before stretched tyres on the Rota Grid Drift like you have with 225/40 tyres,but after that we are went with 245/40 ZR18 and now just looks like should

In your case:

Are you are running coilovers?

If yes,you will need run too front camber bolts for more camber and this will allow you better handling overall,without the camber bolts you will be limited with camber adjustment

We are running 9JX17" with Toyo R888 255/40 R17 without the problem and too 9.5JX18 Rota Grid Drift with 245/40 ZR18 without the problem with coilovers and camber bolts at front

you can run 245s like jura said , you will have to higher the suspension and roll the arches (if they havnt been done already ) camber bolts are also advised :thumb:

I am going to parade my ignorance here, but what do you mean by "rolled on"? I presume that this is something to do with the fact that they don't seem to reach the lip of the wheel but I'd be interested to know.

btw they tyres have to be like this to stop it rubbing, Its stanced. I will buy the wheels off you if you decide to change them :thumb:

Yes I have BC Racing coil over, which have the camber adjustment at the top of the stock in the top mount. Do i still need a new bolt or do I have enough adjustment with my coil overs?

Yes I bought it a week ago, very happy :)

Sorry I dont want to sell the wheels as I like them I just want large tyres. So from what I can see 245 is as large as I can go. The arches have been roled if this make a differance.

Yes you will need to run camber bolts,without the camber bolts you will be limited in camber adjustment(in our case we have as maximum front camber -1.48 without the camber bolts,with camber bolts we are running now just -2.00,but we can run more..),plus would recommend too raise the ride height and if its possible fit the Roll centre kit,which will help in the better steering,on our car this transform car unbelievable

Yes,they're correct and we are running both of them,like the camber bolts at front and this Roll centre kit

You will need have wheel alignment done after fitting both of them,but this depends on your personal preference and what car will be mainly used plus here is few of guys which will help you best alignment like is Arnie or bonesetter,Arch etc.

Yes Mike you fitted correct on front,but you can fit them too on the rear.

I may sound a bit thick here but would it drive ok if you only used camber bolts on the front? Surely you need them on the rear too

Yes will drive OK(I would say great) when are just at front camber bolts,off course you can put at rear camber bolts,but this depends on your coilovers,this means if your coilovers have camber plates and can be camber adjusted
