rattle, arrrrgggh!

Good afternoon SN friends,

I am about to go mental! I have MY99 STI Type-R

I have a rattle which is coming from the drivers side and as far as I can work out is the fuel cap.

It sometimes 'buzzes' and sometimes 'knocks' sounds very metallic.

After speaking to a few lads from round my area, they recon it could be something in the rear quarter, seat belt or similar.

The rubber is on my flap as normal but I am adiment that is what it is.

I am running a paddle clutch and since have noticed the problem has worsend, when changing gears, setting off and mainly in reverse.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

Any ideas ?...

Thank you in advance!

Rob

Get someone to sit in the back and help find where it is or basically nail down every loose item on the car, it could be anything!

lol, good times :)

I know where you're coming from though, those little rattles absolutely do my head in. Good luck! :)

Right, I had a few which I sorted.

If it's a Wagon - wrap some insulating tape around the U catch on the boot base.

Try the seatbelt plastic cover - I put rubber in mine!

Then there is the jack, that can rattle over time - just tighten it in its position.
