Bit of a story
We lost our dog last month ,kidney failure. She hadn’t been able to go walking for quite awhile so we had bought an i30 for my wife to drive. She now wants another Malamute so The Hyundai boot won’t be big enough. So in a moment of madness I said sell mine sell hers and buy a SUV.Thats it no more Subaru.
My wallet can relax,I will shut the door on the way out .

Nooooo. Such a shame Dave, especially after all the money, time, money effort, money, upgrades, money, love and money you've shown it.

Gutted.

Dave Y 03 October 2018 11:07 AM

The first thing that was said to me was “the trouble is it’s a WRX “
Unbelievable!!

S744hdv 12 October 2018 05:24 PM

Now being broken?

Dave Y 12 October 2018 10:42 PM

No
Ryan who did most of the work bought it.
what his plans are I don’t know.
i wish I hadn’t sold it b.

S744hdv 13 October 2018 07:52 AM

Definitely being broken then via Facebook....its a shame but they are always worth more that way.

Dave Y 13 October 2018 08:40 AM

I don’t do Facebook so I don’t know what he is doing with it.
It will be a pity if he breaks it.

Dave Y 13 October 2018 11:29 AM

it is if i had known i wouldnt have sold it to him.
i even gave him some royal purple oil i had left and a power steering pump i had bought.

Dave Y 14 October 2018 08:58 AM

The shell would be a good buy paintwork has been ceramic coated which had a top up mid September

SouthWalesSam 14 October 2018 11:37 AM

Very sorry to hear, Dave.
Sadly, a lot of project thread cars are worth more in parts than whole and in the end business is business.

I'm deep in negative equity on my Bugeye wagon but if I ever decided to part with it I'd offer it on the forum first.
Then at least if I changed my mind there'd be a chance - however remote - of buying it back.

Dave Y 14 October 2018 03:13 PM

I regret selling it.

Dave Y 14 October 2018 06:54 PM

I was told the problem is it’s only a Wrx so not worth very much.

S744hdv 14 October 2018 07:12 PM

Hardly only a wrx after all you'd done to it!

Dave Y 14 October 2018 07:17 PM

You live and learn .

the shreksta 14 October 2018 07:20 PM

it is a shame but like most have said its worth more in parts.

dave i dont suppose you have a graph of the 2.5 with the s206 turbo do you? im looking for a turbo for my build so weighing up options.

cheers

pjarvis6666 14 October 2018 08:32 PM

how much did you let it go for?

Dave Y 15 October 2018 12:59 AM

Not very much

stonejedi 15 October 2018 06:25 AM

That’s sad mate:( it seems that proper enthusiast are a dying breed these days, don’t be to hard on yourself mate you weren’t to know the buyers true intentions.SJ.

Dave Y 15 October 2018 06:34 AM

I can’t get my head around the fact I was daft enough to sell it.
Then to find out it was being broken is gutting.

rsjohn 15 October 2018 09:16 AM

Nice build topic - iv now bought the engine from this?

BrownPantsRacing 15 October 2018 09:19 AM

Dave I am absolutely gutted for you mate. That's a total worst case scenario to be honest. After all the effort, let alone the money you've spent on the car it's more the time and emotion you've put into the build to see it being broken totally unemotionally is gutting.

Really feel for you mate. Ryan should have told you. He's lost a good customer there.

Dave Y 15 October 2018 06:36 PM

I wish I had done another hillclimb before I sold it.
i don’t think I will be lifting a wheel in the Rav
