Good news i think.?
it wasnt the clutch but os rear driveshaft snapped.
still no Japfest but not so expensive

IainMilford 09 May 2014 01:52 PM

Better news then mate, it is stepping into unknown terriotry when changing the gearbox and transmission and was one of the things I was worried about most, looks like I only need to change a wheel bearing or two.

Annoying but could have been a lot worse!

Dave Y 09 May 2014 02:26 PM

it was like a grenade going off !
Onwards and upwards
Gearchange was spot on with the ASP gear bush kit.

IainMilford 09 May 2014 03:54 PM

Yes the bush kit does sharpen the change up nicely :)

JonMc 09 May 2014 07:07 PM

Gutted for you, too many launches lunched the clutch:wonder:

You could always write to the manufacturer, especially if you can prove it's only done 5000 miles, and they may come up trumps - no harm in trying.

IainMilford 09 May 2014 09:41 PM

It's the driveshaft not the clutch ;)

richie001 09 May 2014 10:06 PM

Sorry to hear your not going tomorrow.

Dave Y 10 May 2014 03:54 PM

A pair of driveshafts are on there way from Matty.Ryan has ordered a set of rear bearings.
A gear surround is on its way also.
Should be back on the road in just over a week.

Dave Y 22 May 2014 02:31 AM

Picking the car up on Friday .
Ryan has sprayed the silver bits in the centre console and the air vents matt black.Hopefully the driveshafts will last a bit longer this time.

Dave Y 23 May 2014 01:51 PM

picked the car up all jobs done excellent work as usual from Ryan.Spraying the centre console and air vents matt black was a stroke of genius,he also did the the metal gear surround black but left the fixing screws silver.it adds a nice touch to the interior.
i will take some pics later if we get any sunshine.
The 6 speed box takes a bit of getting used to,as i said earlier the ASP bush kit is well worth fitting

BLU 23 May 2014 02:42 PM

Hmm curious to see what the black vents look like :thumb:

Six speed box is a little odd at first. You'll soon get used to it though ;)

Dave Y 23 May 2014 03:15 PM

when the rain stops i will send my wife out with her camera to take some pics

Cannon Fodder 23 May 2014 11:05 PM

Nice one Dave, glad to hear you're back on the road.

Ryan did my vent rings, gear surround etc the same in matt black it really improves the interior look as the silver finish does look more than a little naff on the newage models.

Dave Y 24 May 2014 01:41 AM

I am very pleased how the interior looks now Ty.
But that is it now no more spending for a few months i have to do some serious saving for an engine build.

Matt black does look so much better on the interior than the dark grey subaru used:thumb:

Dave Y 30 May 2014 06:42 PM

Your right Jon i am pleased how the interior looks now.

Dave Y 31 May 2014 09:09 AM

Just ordered a set of wind deflectors,i saw a very tidy car last week with these on.They were a nice subtle touch.

Dave Y 31 May 2014 05:17 PM

Had the wheels off today to give them and the calipers a good clean.
There were some brakedust deposits that wouldnt budge no matter what i tried.
Gave the engine bay a good polish as well.

Dave Y 31 May 2014 05:28 PM

53 31 May 2014 05:33 PM

Looks good Dave : Ryan did mine the other week the same :)

Dave Y 31 May 2014 05:42 PM

Yes thanks to Ryan the whole car is looking good.
Now i have to do some serious saving towards my engine build.

Dave Y 08 June 2014 01:10 AM

slight blow from exhaust centre section.Had a new gasket fitted a couple of weeks ago but the problem has come back.
Ryan advises replace the centre section with a Milltek one.
I cant find a 2.5 Milltek centre section,is there such a thing?
