M3 CSL E46 - 234 bhp per ton
r32 - 160 bhp per ton
Porsche 911 c2 - 234 bhp per ton
Porsche 911 turbo - 272 bhp per ton
Audi RS6 - 244 bhp per ton
Audi RS4 - 234 bhp per ton
Audi TT 3.2 - 164 bhp per ton
Ferrari 575M - 298 bhp per ton
E92 M3 : 244 bhp per tonne

McLaren Merc SLR : 348 bhp per ton
997 GT2 : 363 bhp per tonne
McLaren F1 : 501 bhp per ton
Bugatti Veyron : 509 bhp per ton

And being quite surprised at some of the bhp per tonne figures.

Thought we'd start a leaderboard thread for just scoobys, should be interesting, given the list above.

Please List Mods and estimated weight if you dont know exactly.

I think this layout would be ok.

What is bhp per ton on a 6.0 vxr8?

The Pink Ninja 15 August 2012 05:08 PM

Its all about the torque, I have more power to weight than that skyline R35 GTR @ 271 per tonne but could i keep up with it, Could i fook :D

type-rob 15 August 2012 05:08 PM

Now then eggy! Excellent stuff! :thumb: I am sat in work rocking in my chair till 5.30pm when I set off to pick it up! Could be anything between 400-450, would like to think the higher end of the scale! Shame its raining as I quite liked it in one piece!

I will report back to you when I have battered Wakefield Road for a while! :norty:

type-rob 15 August 2012 05:10 PM

The newer R35 (2011 onward) have quite a bit more power and are nearer to 315bhp per ton along with over 450lb ft

Good idea - how about a torque per tonne leaderboard as well? That could be interesting, as said above sometimes the bhp per tonne doesn't show the whole picture :)

I do wonder why we use smilies, when people tend to blatantly ignore them and the context they can help to provide. ;)

Apologies in that case. :)
However you have to agree that weigt reduction is important in gaining a performance advantage. That said the newer machinery seem to have the transmission advantange! We need a cheap sequential clutchless gearshift system for Imprezas.:D

Andy Carr has guestimated about 420bhp on mine, curb weight is 1249 (lost a kilo in aircon removal ;) )

Type-rob Engine 2.0 - Turbo MD312t -BHP per ton 420 / 1249 = 336.26 BHP per ton

Ten more than an F430 then :D

type-rob 16 August 2012 12:39 AM

Damn! Curb weight is 1239 , making it 338.9 !

Stevesbluewrx 16 August 2012 01:27 AM

How do you work the results out? Is there a site you can calculate up?

I'm half tempted to ask my local tip if I cna jump on the scales for a print out of the weight too.

Steve

stedee 16 August 2012 06:36 AM

your hp / weight x 1000 = power to weight.

rob lost a kilo what did you take off , the rad????

guestimate of mine 380/ 1150 = 330.

type-rob 16 August 2012 08:30 AM

Air con pal, might strip the thing out after this conversation!

MattyB1983 16 August 2012 09:25 AM

MattyB - 2.0 - TD0520G - 410 / 1200 = 341bhp per ton.

CREWJ 16 August 2012 09:46 AM

CREWJ: | Engine: 2.0 | Turbo: N/A | BHP Per Ton: 123bhp / 1.130kg = 108.8 BHP Per Ton

Get in!

Stevesbluewrx 16 August 2012 10:35 AM

482bhp /1270 =

eggy790 16 August 2012 10:59 AM
