Lambda Sensor Doesn't exist?
Hi,
This is my first post so apologies if this is in the wrong area. The lambda sensor on my 2001 Impreza is worn and I need to find a replacement. The part number is: A24-B71 084 16090. I understand this is a Bosch Japan pat number and am unable to find a direct replacement just using this number. Has anyone had a similar problem or had any successes using a generic sensor. Better still has anyone had luck replacing this sensor and if so with which part number? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Stu |
is this the front or rear sensor ?
I cant fault these http://www.worldcarparts.co.uk/CarPa...B/Default.aspx |

It's just a standard 2.0l Impreza GX hatchback. The engine variant is listed as GG9 on the V5 document.
The problem I am having is when I contact companies that specialise in Lambda sensors they can't guarantee their recommended part will work as they can't match the part number I give. One company informed my mechanic that they are developing a replacement as their isn't one currently available but I just wanted to check on the off chance that some one has had the same problem and came up with an alternate solution. It's seems this specific part was only made for a limited time in Japan and as a result did not gain an international part number. Normally if I google a part number you get some results but not with this. |
I would think the part number you have is wrong - lambda's for the GX must be readily available with a quick Google suggesting Front – 22641AA100, Rear – 22690AA54.

Thanks for your replies,
I understand the pat umber doesn't fit the usual format but have been informed this is a Japan only part number which was only produced on a limited run which makes it hard to find an OEM or generic replacement. |
What's special about your car then? An '01 GG9 wagon is a standard UK car isn't it? Or have I mistaken it for another model?
|
I'm only going off the part number on the lambda that came off my car and understand if you replace it with the wrong part it could not work correctly. If any where could tell me the correct sensor required based on my vehicle details then I would buy it but most places seem to say "It should work" and if it doesn't they won't take it back.
Could it be an import or the part changed at some point by a previous owner perhaps? The V5 says "Declared New At First Registration" so I presume it is just a normal UK model. |
The part number on the Lambda will be the manufacturers part number, not the Subaru part number.
I would ask for a lambda for your model, rather than quoting that part number. Try Googling for a GG9 lambda ;) |
Yeah probably the best bet. Thanks.

As Tim said you are need Denso sensor not the Bosch sensor, which will not work, because Bosch sensor have 3 wires and Denso using 4 wires lambda sensors
Bosch is usually used on the Classic and older Forester/Legacy etc.,on New age Impreza(which is yours) are used Denso sensors Would get genuine Denso sensor from World car parts, this company we are used for O2 Lambda sensors Jura |
try just lambdas used for years on all my cars and never had any probs.
|
www.sparkplugs.co.uk is another option... got one for my old Forester XT from there.

Here is yours O2 sensor part number for Denso replacement is DOX-0306
