no i dont mean the dingle dangles between your legs i mean your wheel nuts on your impreza, mine are scratched up and look gash to be honest so i am thinking about a set of d1 spec lockers all round

its a silver blobeye with standard colour wheels and bright red porsche calipers so i was thing maybe black ones

am i right in saying the thread is 12mm x 1.25?

what do you lot have on yours?

tubbytommy 12 August 2012 05:08 PM

yeah ive had a quick look around, dont want any old cheap **** tho dont mind paying £50 a set, would like some rota ones but cant find any

is that the correct thread size?

JonMc 12 August 2012 05:13 PM

I've just fitted the Muteka SR48s in red and they are a huge disappointment - they mark very easily and the anodised coating scratches off very easily:(

i agree jon. not so sure annodised coating is a good idea for wheel nuts

thats why i wanted rota nuts,i had them on my type r and they were on and off all the time with hardly any scratching

its more quality i am after, there is alot of cheap copies of d1's about

the search continues...........

azzaharvey 12 August 2012 06:49 PM

i paid over £100 for a set of rays lugs in gun metal, ive been really careful with them. they are covered in scratches and the thread is starting to shear, ive only had them off 4 times.

super_ted 12 August 2012 07:43 PM

Can you not have the current ones powder coated?

wagontim 12 August 2012 08:35 PM

i have red internal drive.got these from a company called super forma,£20 per set, same as the ones on jdm garages' site and a tenner cheaper :)
they are pretty difficult to scratch and look really good with my white wheels.

lineker13 13 August 2012 04:34 PM

I had a set of ultralight internal drive nuts in black. I paid £80 for them only for two of them to split meaning I had to have them drilled out. The result? Two damaged alloys and a full wheel referb costin £240. A very expensive lesson learned. I've sprayed the original chrome nuts black now.

bustaMOVEs 18 August 2012 12:56 PM

Id go for steel ones as the alloy ones flex and loosen under high heat temps, i.e trackdays etc

sssssteeeee 18 August 2012 03:14 PM

i shave mine. i got a brand new unopened set of wheel nuts i bought from scoobyparts there chrome and locking type. interested?

DannyBoy007 19 August 2012 07:55 PM

as said, Stay well clear of Alloy ones, Had the same happen to me on my old car. Had 1 on each wheel snap off, I had to drill them off.

I now have ultralight internal drive steel ones in black and find these spot on, Cost me £24 and are fit and forget

I can`t understand why people are b1tching about the finish on the Muteki ones. I have the burning blue neon ones and have recently had tyres all round (admittedly I did ask the lad not to use the airgun) and the finish is still like new :Whatever_

I'm bitching because the quality of the anodising is sh!t. I fitted them myself using the supplied socket and a ratchet and they look like someone has fitted them with a glass filled socket:mad:
