Engine management light.

Hi all,

So just been for a gentle:norty:country road drive. So I came to over take someone and dropped it in to 3rd and went past, as I hit the higher rev range (can't say exactly as my eyes were on the road) I saw a flash from the engine warning light on the dash, it must have been on for a second then off again as soon as I dropping it in to 4th.

I don't have a fault code reader at present so can't check for any stored faults. Anyone else had this come up? Any ideas?

Car;

54 wrx running 346 bhp with all the usual mods, VF34 as the turbo and simtek controlling it all.

Cheers

I'm sure I read somewhere that when running a simtek ecu, the engine management light also acts as a knock link sensor light. You may have suffered abit of detonation?

Simtek eml will work for det as above and also is used as a shift light. Depends how the mappers set it up.

Hmm not good. Fingers crossed for dodgy fuel! It's the first time I've ever noticed it, a call to the mappers me thinks.
