check engine light after rebuild??
 

hi all finished rebuilding and fitting my engine today in my v reg jdm wrx all was well car sounds sweet as a nut but after 10 mins check engine light came on and car seems to want to cut out as revs settle after reving slightly. any one got any ideas as to what problem could be? thanks in advance :thumb:

hi mate with it being a 99 onwards model not sure how to? do they have the same 2 black and 2 green wires under dash like earlier models?

lambda sensor, mine did that when the front 02 sensor died.
wouldnt idel very well and revs dropped really low like it was about to stall after revving

Air mass meter can cause similar symptoms, but I'd check thoroughly for an air leak first. Get the codes out of it too even if you need to pay to get it read, it may save you money in the long run.

what killed the last engine ? if it was the maff it could do it again.

Start with the simple stuff

Look for loose vacuum hoses , check ISV

it melted piston number 3 :lol1:

so what sensor went last time to cause that ??
