grumbling sound during hard cornering

my 04 wrx has a grumbling sound during fast cornering when turning right the sound is coming from the left side at the rear, normal cornering is fine and no noise in straight line

the car is not lowered and is fitted with 18" pro race 1.2's with 225/40/18 rubber

any idea folks?

Could be a wheel bearing just starting when it gets loaded during cornering?

They can be very hard to find when they first start as spinning the wheel while suspended will not make them roar without being loaded, you may have to wait until it starts getting a bit worse to find which corner,or get someone in the back while you drive and have a listen.

Not really,around £50-70 I would think.
I haven't had one go on mine or any customers subaru's as yet so can't be sure

cos we love the scoob :)

where did you get it from matey?

I'm in the highlands so a garage in inverness. Ive used the guy for years and he borrowed some kind of puller to remove the bearing and that saved him dismantling the whole hub and saved me labour costs.
