Right looking for members with modded subaru 2000 turbo models

just bought a scooby 2000 turbo completely standard and in need of advice on where to go next for around an extra 30-50 bhp .........need people with exp in these models to advise me wisely as been told a hundred different storys on what to do and dont ..be great to share some views and past exp with you thanks.......mines a 1999 mica blue by the way

powerwrx 07 August 2012 02:43 PM

Dear lord........again i will give you the same advice as ive given you on most of the threads of yours

full decat or sportscat exhaust system (for mot)
decent panel filter
walbro 255 fuel pump
and a remap (ecutek)

should see you in the high 200's bhp wise.

if you want more (300+bhp) then add..
bigger turbo (vf34/35 for example)
bigger injectors (pink 550's)
STI TMIC (possably)

all this will need to be set up so remapping is a must!

this advice comes from a member who has owned both classic and newage, and its the same basis for both

stevebt 07 August 2012 03:32 PM

I would swap the standard intercooler over asap for a newage wrx one as its bigger than yours and will be cheap as its not very sought after ;)

Then as above the usual exhaust and remap mods.

what powerwrx says again:thumb:

MattyB1983 07 August 2012 03:53 PM

Fella, you've had the correct advice many times already. Why keep asking the same questions when experienced members have already pointed you in the right direction.

Take the advice you already got in your other thread....

powerwrx 07 August 2012 05:31 PM

what you on about? we have given you the advice so either do the mods to your car or stop posting threads that are the same lol

tubbytommy 07 August 2012 05:33 PM

there are a few ways to get the power, it will usually involve turbo, injectors and new top mount.

tbh you have had good advice on how to do it in the other thread mentioned above

MattyB1983 07 August 2012 05:47 PM

If I was you I'd just fit a 100 shot of nitrous.

Let us know how you get on hey...

powerwrx 07 August 2012 08:16 PM

the long term users of SN, me included have given you the 'correct' advice..trust us,we know! why do you need other opinions? i dont understand why you need to keep asking the same questions because they have already been answered

Bean1984 07 August 2012 08:35 PM

Id trust what the guys on here say mate. Sure other people will say its all bolt on and go but these cars are proper performance cars so if you want to see the best out of your subaru, the only advice you need is on here mate

kezwaldo 07 August 2012 09:05 PM

fairplay

alcazar 07 August 2012 09:36 PM

Problem is, kez, if you KEEP asking the same question, people will get fed up and stop responding, or even looking at your threads.

Then, when you NEED some advice.........:(

My old my97 uk turbo had the following:
newage intercooler
induction kit
uprated panel filter
bailey dv (really wasn't necessary but wasn't me who put it on :Suspiciou)
full decat flame spitting exhaust (good for keeping ppl off my tail)

possibly some other engine mods that I can't remember
was running 250bhp on enginetuner dyno. Was a nice toy to play with but got a better one now :norty:

chocolate_o_brian 09 August 2012 07:49 AM

OP, I'll say it once more as I get bored quick...

My99 uk wagon:

3" decat exhaust
Green cotton panel filter
Walbro fuel pump
ECU remap by Bob Rawle

284/317

The end. Not rocket science...
