Evo Magazine for IPAD. Any good?

I'm a subscriber to Evo Magazine and thinking of getting the Ipad App too. Has anyone else done this and is there much benefit of having it as well as the magazine?
I guess the videos are a plus point but I can find many of those on youtube..

Thoughts?

I got a deal through Zinio and have got EVO and What Mountain Bike magazines.

Actually very good, but can take a bit to download initially and you obviously don't get any freebies, if the paper mag comes with one.

They are pretty clear and easy to zoom in for the small print...double tap or pinch. You can also make the text appear on screen as Reader, which is a nice touch.

Defo worth it IMO, as although it's good to have the full fat item in your hand, it means you don't start having a ever growing collection of mags your missus will nag you about. :D

Looks good - if only mine worked, subscribed over a week ago and despite numerous customer services contacts still have no issues to view!

Through Zinio? Mine was hilariously easy...

Thanks. So to clarify, are we saying that the Ipad version contains everything within the magazine, and more? I'm just trying to work out if I should go for this instead of the magazine or as well as?

That's your own preference tbh. I like it as i dont have a physical magazine laying about. It doesn't have any less than the printed magazine, but not any more either.

I downloaded a mountain biking one, it took literally all night to download (our broadband's quite slow though) and used up about 1/3gb of space. It looked good on the iPad but I expected more interactive elements, there were hardly any. I've not downloaded another but probably would if I had more memory on my iPad (I went for the cheapest one) and faster broadband. I think they will get better but at the moment all I experienced was essentially a PDF version of the mag very little interactivity!

Not EVO magazine but I get Tamiya Model Magazine International on my iPad and it's great for all the reasons above though if they include a freebie like an extra book etc it is included in the Downloadable version, it's just tagged onto the end of the eMag, if it's free stuff like calendar etc then obviously you need a paper version lol

If you download the EVO app you can download a free taster of the magazine to see what it's like. The full mags are huge files.

I wanted to like the magazines on the iPad but so far I still prefer having a paper copy to flick through. I do most of my magazine reading at home so I don't really have the need to clog up my iPad with magazines. Just clog up the house instead! :lol1:
