400bhp dump valve question??
 

Just in the process of upgrading my early classic,got all the mods to get me somewhere near the 400 mark,scoobyclinic sc42,740 injectors,and so on,my question is,I have a fmic fitted with a take off for a dump valve which I'm running a bailey vta at the moment,never had a prob with it at the power level I'm at now,328/324lbf,but thinking of doing away with it,what are my options and if I do run one that puts the air back in to the system where's the best place to do so?or parhaps not run one at all??

Recircs plumb into the side of the inlet pipe (between filter and turbo) right next to the turbo under the inlet manifold. If youve got a VTA already, youll probably find the pipe to this bunged just below and to the right (as you look at the engine) of the throttle body.

The SC42 is apparently ok to run with no pressure relief, but personally, for turbo life its a good thing to have however strong your turbo.

if it was me, id get a decent adjustable recirc like a forge with the spring kit, and as your running a maf, plumb it into the origional recirc to inlet pipe.

Alternatively just run without one! Thats a better idea than keeping the VTA anyway.

Don't have any take offs on the Inlet pipe as I've converted to a front entry rather than the 90" inlet track and have raised the inlet by 10mm with spacer blocks,think a recirc one might be the way forward parhaps,

Which ones too are.as they say,fit and forget,ones you don't have too keep messing about with spring rates etc,have had enough of the vta noise to be honest

Just got hold of a brand new hks ssqv4 dump valve,still a vta one but it was very cheap,better than the bailey???
