Best Re-Circ Valve??
Want to replace my stock re-circ valve but there seems a large choice of replacements, any preferences or good experiences??

Nowt wrong with the OEM DV.

That's fair comment, it just looked a bit old and tired and I wondered whether it was better replaced with a serviceable item? If the stock one is fine and found to be efficient etc. irrespective of age or miles then I will leave well alone.
Thanks for the info Si |
If you want to give it a bit of tlc you could do this?
Once removed go over it with a light wire brush followed by a wire wool . Use a good APC to get rid of the particles and paint it (cover the vaccum nipple and diverter pipe end) or simply leave it in the current rubbed down condition but use a clear laquer. In terms of the internal state. If it is looking a little run down. Coat it with DW40 /GT85 and leave for a few hours or over night. Then use some 3 in 1 oil (remember to remove excess oil) and leave for it to soak again and then simply re-fit. If you cannot get the diverter pipe back on the pipe work itself I find a helping of some KY jelly (Yes, KY Jelly) helps and it will slip into the pipe again. Hope that helps mate. |
Thanks for that, think I will give it a mini service and makeover then! If it ain't broke don't fix it like they say.
Thanks for the mini guide. Si |
Your welcome mate.
The amount you would spend on a new dv you could spend on towards a rear arb, drop links etc. |
