Buying bugeye scoob... advice?
Hello everyone,
I unfortunately sold my 97 turbo2k last year, and now that I am getting married in just over 3 weeks :brickwall I may have the possibility of getting another scoob for the wedding/honeymoon. The honeymoon is a 1000 mile round trip around south/sw england and south wales, with some very nice roads! I would like some advice as to what to look out for with bugeyes - body, engine etc. I am finding it hard to get a happy medium i.e. handling, comfort, space against brute power. I am to blame as my classic was very noisy and had very modified suspension! :lol1: We have narrowed it down to a wrx sti V7 which I am looking at tomorrow and a normal wrx on Saturday. Any pointers will be helpful, thank you please! ;) |
Knocking rear struts, rusty parts underneath, slipping clutch, listen for knocking on start up (cold engine) also regular oil changes/service history are good to see. JDM have higher spec in standard form. :thumb:

Cheers for that! Fingers crossed I may come home with it tomorrow :luxhello:

Have a good look under the evaparator at the metal work there. I have recently replaced mine. Not a massive job but one less that you could do with.
