New Job - Leaving Comfort Zone
 

After graduating Uni with a Masters I've decided to leave my current job with a company I've been with for 20 years. Seems out there in other similar roles I can earn 10K more than I currently do... all a bit daunting though - has anyone else done similar?

Will £10k buy you happiness?

I have changed a few jobs. Not because I can't stick to anything:D (quite the opposite, actually), but because I do like to attempt new challenges in terms of tasks, so I take on time-limited projects. 20 years is a long time to stay with one company, and leaving must to be a dauting experience for you, I understand. But in a new place, 6 months are usually enough to settle. Always keep your reactions in check at the new place. Even when I haven't stuck to a job for as long as 20 years (The longest was 10 years for me), I have felt that the new place was winding me up, because it was different. I kept lid on my reactions, and in 6 months, I was operationg comfortably at the new place. Its human nature to avoid change. We can challenge this nature, and better ourselves. Good luck. :thumb:

Yes, right at the moment, recently gained promotion from a job I have been doing and doing well for 10 years. I really gunned for the job, but as soon as I got the letter the sweats started. :D

just believe in yourself and do the best you can, if you are given the job somebody else must already think you are capable!

If you are doing a similar role and can be paid an extra £800 plus a month, I don't blame ya.
Its amazing how companies have different ways of working even though they are in the same trade, thats what I have found in the Pre print/Repro trade.

He was originally disappointed when he began to study it. He totally misunderstood what the final outcome would be. Next study session he left his mags and love sock at home. :lol1:
