parts to improve steering
so, i have been dogged by sloppy steering for a while. it is a blobeye spec c and has less than 50k on the clock.
i just got new front wheel bearings and hubs which has improved the problem, but still isn't as sharp as i'd like it to be. i seen elsewhere that these parts would bring a car back to "brand new" steering wise... new ball joints new tie rod ends (inner and outer) new strut top hats new control arm bushings new/upgraded steering rack bushings how does that sound first of all? is it worth doing them all, and what kind of ball park figure are we looking at? cheers. |
i fitted superpro bushes, coilovers and droplinks handling is spot on.
dont forget the rear !!! |
steering rack bushes make a big difference

As a something to check, the clamp bolts on the UJ's of the drop link between column and rack ..... after a rack change a while back, i found these tight, but not Proper feckin tight!
If they arent really tight it'll give you a sloppy dead zone in the middle. Otherwise, sloppy steering isnt always an issue with the steering itself! old bushes can make a car feel very floaty! Ball joints and track rod ends usually have a knock associated once theyre worn out, so probably isnt that. poly bushing the rack is a really easy job and the bushes are relatively cheap. But if everythings ok, but your still not happy with the steering, antilift kit and bigger rear AR bar will sharpen turn in no end. |
don't poly bushings need greased every so often or something?
i like something lower maintenance. heard whiteline are good, they look austrailian. any good uk stockists? do you think 45k bushings could do with replacing? |
