hi there iv had my scooby for about 2 years, in april i had the cambelt done and had to put a new crank pulley an bolt on, iv only used the car a handfull of time and yesterday i lost powersteering, opened the bonnet and the fan belt had come off and the crank pulley was that loose i could to it off with my hand, can anyone give me any pointers why it might of done this, someone said the crank has gone??? plz help :(

make sure the keyway on the crank is still ok, if it is use a bit of loctite on the threads to help keep the bolt tight and make sure you tighten the pulley bolt nice and tight, i usually get a second person to put the car in 5th gear with the foot brake applied and i do the bolt up with a breaker bar.

ok thanks mate so doesnt mean that the crank has gone then just the nut wasnt tightend enough
