Lovely mate, if I could have a black one it would end up looking like yours

martyp1970 09 August 2012 09:20 AM

Looks great, I would still take the rear STI badge off and the STI stickers on the mudflaps...but that's just me .
Lovely looking Scooby though.

gurdas 09 August 2012 10:15 AM

Thanks for the comments guys, really happy with how it is right now.

marty, i've been thinking about the mudflaps, i'm going to have to take them off and trim them anyway due to them scraping on speed bumps so the stickers will need to come off, but what to replace with?

Couple of options,

Smaller white STi logos like on my old car, or the same but pink?

or Prodrive stickers?

Keep poking at your pics and love the ride height on those Tein springs, how's the ride with them fitted??

Si

gurdas 09 August 2012 08:00 PM

The ride is amazing, it corners and hugs the road much better. Great grip now and doesn't under steer as easily.

Shaggy1991 09 August 2012 08:38 PM

Very shiny, good work.

Ginola 09 August 2012 10:43 PM

You can trim the flaps without removing them with a ruler and sharp blade (your old ones are shorter at the front now ;)

gurdas 10 August 2012 12:40 AM

I think i'm going to remove them because I want to spray the silver mud flap brackets black.

Also Ginola can you do me a favour mate and measure your gear stick from the top of the knob down to the bottom of the black gator cover, i'm pretty sure yours has a short shifter fitted to it because mine feels to have more movement than my old one did.

Marietto 16 October 2012 12:06 AM

Looks gorgeous mate - black is my favourite! As far as the mudflaps go I would go for the Prodrive in white as in the photo of mine:

absalutely stunning buddy!! how big of a job was it to detango the headlights???

RB5 Boyo 09 November 2012 12:22 PM

Ahhhh Speedlines, im so jealous, thats exactly what iv been looking for to put on my black 05 blob also, but couldnt find any decent secon hand ones in the 5x114 fitment!!!!

Cant wait to see these fitted, they will look amazing :)

Barxy 09 November 2012 12:42 PM

Looks immense !

gurdas 11 November 2012 01:23 PM

Cheers guys, detango was fairly straight forward. Don't be scared to put the headlights in the oven for 15-20 mins, all you want to do is heat up the glue so you can pull the lights apart. Then same again afterwards so you can seal it.

I've just been searching around for the right gold to use for my new speedlines and have collected a few so I will be trying them out and posting back with results when I get time. Think it will be a job over Christmas.
