I know I know - another what's it worth thread.

Seriously though I have no idea where Scooby values are right now for classics and looking in the for sale section doesn't help as they seem to be all over the place.

My car is a UK Turbo 2000 in Mica red on an X plate.

It is a 2 owner vehicle with a genuine 51K on the clock

Has the following mods:

AGX shocks
H & R lowering springs
Blitz Nur SPec R exhaust
STI7 seats
K Sport brakes front and rear
STI V6 front lip colour cioded
Rota GRAs 17 with Michelin Pilot Sports - 2000 miles on them at most

No rust on it at all including the rear arches.

Any ideas on price. Would I get more than £2K?

Not convinced about selling but nor am I about keeping it either!

Where are you based fella, could be interested at the right price, I have been looking at loads, from under £1k up to £2k, there is some jokers out there:brickwall

Yours sounds nice so pm me:thumb:

2k is cheap IMO. Think to the right buyer it could fetch 3k to 3.5k+ especially with such low miles & owners. Quick sale maybe 2.5k but personally I'd hang out for a good price as decent classics are hard to find!

Hmmm, well that's what I was hoping, but it's hard to know. It is a great car, but of course it is only the UK model so I am under no illusions that it's the most desirable.

I have been surprised at how cheap some good ones seem to go for.

If I decide to sell for definite mate I will. 50/50 right now and depends on availability other cars that I am interested in.

ditchmyster 14 July 2012 04:05 PM

At least £3k with those mods and would be a cheap car at that, the sum total of mods second hand value is close to £2k.

If you return it to standard and sell the mods i think you will see £4k no problem.

Even just take the brakes off and you will get circa £800 for them.

With those miles and the mint condition (that i'm sure it's in) the car alone should fetch £2/2.5k standard.

You could always put an ad on pistonheads or on here, at a price you would be happy to part with & see what interest you get. Especially if you're in no rush to sell.

Yeah trouble is the only standard parts I have left are the brakes, I sold or disposed of everything else.

Seems a shame to strip her but it makes sense financially. I know people go on about power on here much of the time, but I focused on getting the car to handle and stop properly and was going to uprate the power next, but to be honest it's fast enough given that the fun for me is to be had keeping a good rate of progress up over a twisty road rather in straight line speed.

Those in the know say a well set up chassis and good brakes is worth 100bhp. ;)

Exactly, and then spend some time getting some driving tuition in the car rather than buying more power. :thumb:

Second that, it may take a little longer to sell but the right buyer will know what they are getting and will be on the look out for such. Issue will be that they will be few n far between and be expected for some very insulting offers and people telling you its worth less.

Personally I wouldn't let it go for less than 3k, low miles, good history, nice mods and have to say in one of the best colours Subaru did. Just a shame of never made it onto the type r.

Best of luck if you do decide to sell, issue is what would you get next..............? It's a hatch sti isn't it ;-) lol you're a secret lover of them really....

LOL, sorry but you are going to be disappointed.

To be honest I have a big Jag that I use day to day and for motorway crusing and driving round town it's great.

When I want to go for a 'drive' I take the Scoob, but I am just not getting the chance to do that that often these days.

Factor in servicing, insurance and tax and I just wonder whether I should chop them both in and get something in the middle if you know what I mean.

50/50 right now like I said.

To be honest if the hatch floated my boat looks wise and didn't have the engine issue it woudl be a candidate albeit in secondhand mode, can't afford a new one right now.

chocolate_o_brian 14 July 2012 06:02 PM

Chris, given the circumstances, I'd have snapped your hand off for your classic but I have my Wagon now.

£3,000-£3,500 as is, £2,500 standard :)

It's low owners, low miles, not chavved up, looked after properly and NOT rusty either.

rickya 14 July 2012 06:05 PM

Id take the good bits off and sell them separately & sell the car std.

The Zohan 14 July 2012 06:24 PM

Low miles, good colour and sensible mods should see you clear £3,000 for a quick sale but £3,500 if you are prepared to wait. None of those mods would put me off if i was looking for a good classic.

Good, solid, straight un-chavved classics are getting rare.

Matt23 14 July 2012 06:44 PM

I would say about between £2700 and £3200 mate. Do you have any pictures.
