Rota grid drift 18 x 9.5 for daily driver?
 

Hi guys

Will the above wheels be ok to use on a daily driver? I.e no scrubbing etc. I understand I will need coilovers to run these wheels and potentially the arches rolled. I've not had to have arches rolled before, is this a bodshop job?

What size tyres would be best to run? I've read anything between 225/40 and 265/40.

Final question, do you have to have the 9.5j rims to get the dished look rather than the flat spokes? Do they do a dished wheel in an 8j rim for example which would be better daily?

We are run on daily basis Rota Grid Drift 9.5JX18" ET38,as you are all ready said,you will need coilovers and camber bolts plus arch rolling(Arch Enemy covering almost whole UK and I would contact them for arch rolling http://www.archenemy.co.uk/ )

Tyres all depends if you want stretched look or you want go route non-stretched look,we are running 245/40 ZR18

Stretched tyre will give you extra clearance, rolled arches will also help.
If you decide to go down this route i would either go for a 215/40/18 or a 225/40/18.

I run a 215/35 on a 9 and use it daily and never had any problems.

stretched tyres are for cars that get looked at but not driven.

(IMO they are the opitome of skinny jean wearing, sticker bombing, polo driving, knob heads ..... and in extreme instances should be subject to points and a fine in the same way as bald tyres are!)

If your going to use a tyre properly, then getting a sidewall that works is pretty essential! And financially, why would you spend out on 9.5's and then boot them with tyres that would be fine on your old 7's????

So, back to the OP's point .... Jura knows what hes talking about!

As a daily drive, id say you dont want to go too wide! Tyres are extortionate! Wheel bearings will take alot more abuse!

Getting a 9.5 under the arch will take work, but as jura said, archenemy will come to you and get things working for about £60 a corner. Then you might need somewhere that knows suspension setup to really dial it in.

we have fitted loads to customers dailey driver cars , normally running 225,401,8 tyres with arches rolled and coilys .

they are normally just a show look thing but you can run them everyday if you want to without issues :thumb:
