Insurance renewal

Right I thought Id take the plunge and see if I can save some money.
I normally go with compare sites, but thought I'd do it the old fashion way by phone.
Needs renewing by end of this month
So I set out with a list of insurance company's and the results are so far,

Adrian flux- getting back to me as my mods wasn't giving a quote

Aplan-getting back to me

Green light-can't quote me due to my postcode:wonder: wf2 area.

Sky- getting back to me

Keith micheals-got transferred to Gary but busy line so left msg.

So in all no quotes as yet, but hoping for a good outcome by one of these company's .
So if you insurers are reading this please do me justice:thumb:

I have 9+ years ncd, had car scince July 2010 and wrx 55 plate with approx 340-350 hp of mods, parked on drive and I'm 32 years old.
Fingers crossed hey:D

I usually use the above guide for insurance (Moley said it's quite accurate currently). WF2 comes in at E* which isn't great. That may be why you struggle with some companies even if it's a nice area :)

Also, when adding your mods onto the compare website quotes, doesn't it send them sky high when you click through to the website? I tried for a laugh the other day and nearly fell off my chair with some of the prices!

Fingers crossed someone like Moley comes good, I'm 27 and paying £685 currently, with 3 points and a non-fault accident with the car written off.

Blymey yes bloody 'e' lol
I've done compare quote with and without mods and it's only £250 diffrence with maximum mods a wrx can take which is about 340-350. As I've replaced stock turbo with a 34 and suporting mods.
Gary sent me a pm and going to call me tmr hopefully.
We shall have to see who can give the best deal.

But green light is out of the picture so far. Is there any other insurers I've missed?

Top of my head, the ones listed above get a phonecall from me come renewal. Saying that, with my personal circumstances, nobody seems to match or beat Moley :lol1: (but he is a mate and I bought a car off his Dad last year) :D

bustaMOVEs 10 July 2012 12:47 PM

Cool.
Well Gary phoned and surprisingly my postcode comes in as 'B' on his database. Says insurers use diffrent databases.

So 1 down 3 to go.

When I've had all quotes, I shall let you know who the winner is :thumb:

You could also try Pace Ward - I did and they gave a really good price and had excellent knowledge/understanding of the mods on my car.

Only person who beat them (without knowing what they had quoted beforehand) was Mr Moulson.

Excellent news then! I was looking for an upto date one but that was the best I could find. Moley said it does fluctuate every year which seems fair. Mines a B on that list... You watch it be demoted ;)

No it's not, but plays a big factor, I.e if someone's say £50 out then it will go on the customer service, respond time, excess fees and type of cover and the extras.
In my book anyway.:thumb:

What's yours?

mickywrx 15 July 2012 08:57 PM

My what? Insurance cost?

Just an update, in the end I've gone with sky insurance :thumb:

Also like to say that Gary @ Keith micheals is top bloke and very helpfull:thumb:
Also Claire @ a plan is also top, very helpfull too and would consider the two most defiantly when it comes to renewal again.
Thanks for all your help guys/girls :thumb:

It's all about the money! :lol1: :D

Just kidding, it's the whole experience, for want of a better phrase.

When my renewal was approaching, Gary @ KM called me out of the blue. "Your renewals coming up, we can do this, this, that etc. Need an up-to-date spec list, etc." Sorted.

Good customer service there. :thumb: I usually just PM him and ask him to renew my policy. :lol1:

My postcode is in the high risk, even though its one of the nicest areas. Boo to that list!

That list is not nessasarly true as mine came up as d, but Gary classed mine as b so I wouldn't worry about it:thumb:
Only person that refused to insure due to postcode was greenlight:nono:
