How much to replace steering rack?
 

Roughly how much should I expect to pay to replace a steering rack, ball joints and tie rods?

My bug has nigh on 130k on the clock and I think the rack is shot, and there's also some minimal play in the tie rods.

The steering wheel feels like its binding evey 3/4 turn, and then its normal again until the next 3/4 turn. Very disconcerting when turning around corners and round abouts.

I haven't got time to fix it myself at the moment, plus the inclement weather isn't all that inspiring either, so how many hours labour do you reckon it is for a garage to replace the above?

I can`t answer your question but I do have a cheap rack from a bug which had only covered 40k miles (I bought it for my blob but they are different). If you`re interested, pm me :thumb:
