I have a reasonably new (5 yrs old) house. We have taken the cacky paper off the bathroom walls and it has left half the magnolia paint underneath it on the plasterboard walls, and peeled the rest off. We have tried sanding the walls but they wont sand down totally smooth so we can paint them.

Can i put lining paper up and paint that instead ?? If so, do i need a special wallpaper adhesive as its in a bathroom and there will be more moisture in there ??

Help !!

Reg Prescott (dave really :D)

Just has exactly the same problem, and lining paper is the way to go!

Nick

Did you use normal wallpaper paste ?

Damn, I knew I forgot to mention that.....I was just about to edit my post.

I used heavy duty paste, the type normally reserved for anaglypta (I really don't think that is how it should be spelled!) (premixed from B&Q). I did however use the proper kitchen and bathroom paint.

Sorted this about six months ago with no signs of peeling yet!
